It's the server that receives your feed using SRTLA, an SRT-based protocol that aggregates several network connections into one reliable transmission. It's the core piece of bonded IRL streaming: your phone sends to it and it delivers stable video to your OBS.
In practice they're used interchangeably: both receive SRTLA from the phone and forward the stream. At PerHost we call the full service a relay (bonded reception + OBS delivery + monitoring), not just the process running on a port.
Yes, there are open source Docker images (like belabox-receiver). It works, but you own the VPS, firewall, maintenance, monitoring and 3 AM diagnostics. PerHost exists to remove that part: same result, zero ops.
